Responsiveness is part of the amenity—not an optional service level.
Modern Market brings together generations of food-service pride, new retail technology and direct accountability from the people behind the company.
Michael Gordon comes from a family that immigrated from Italy in the 1960s and built a dairy and frozen-dessert business serving restaurants throughout Boston’s North End. The family produced Russo’s Spumoni and Italian ice long before “artisan” became a marketing term.
That business grew through retail and food service, establishing a family standard built around pride, quality and the understanding that a reputation is earned one customer at a time.
Mike & Joe Gordon · Co-FoundersToday, Michael and his son Joseph carry that history forward through Modern Market. Together, they combine hands-on hospitality instincts with modern smart-market technology to create food-and-beverage amenities designed around the people and properties they serve.
The technology may be new. The values are not: answer the phone, keep your promises, take pride in the presentation and stay personally invested after the installation.

Modern Market was created to bring together the best parts of hospitality and modern unattended retail: real food, intelligent technology, property-specific design and direct owner accountability.
We did not set out to place more vending machines. We set out to build useful amenities that properties are proud to offer and people genuinely want to use.
“The machine is only the beginning. The relationship and the experience are what make the market work.”
The founders assessing the opportunity are the same people who help plan the equipment, receive it, install it and stay involved after launch.

These are not marketing phrases. They are the operating expectations Mike and Joe bring to every relationship.
